NINA DROPCHO is a graduate student in the Milligan Lab at NMSU. My graduate work is in the area of Conservation Genomics. Through my studies, I strive to understand the genes of species of conservation interest. I am especially interested in marine species and coral reef ecosystems. Some of the questions I would like to answer include:

* How do a species’ genes react to changes in the health of its environment?

* How does genetic expression reflect climate change?

* What are the genetic relationships between species in their ecosystems?

I am always interested in new funding sources for my projects! Please contact me (ndropcho @ nmsu . edu) if you have leads or information on funding related to my interests! Thanks!

Personally, I love oceans and sea slugs, jungles and deserts, bluegrass music, hiking, cats, and travel.
