Cadastral Measurement Management for Windows (WinCMM) is the computational tool for the survey and analysis of cadastral surveys. Initially developed by Dr. Raymond Hintz of the University ofMaine for the US Bureau of Land Management, the software has evolved into a very popular data analysis, adjustment and computation tool useful for all types of boundary surveys. Many people affectionately know the software as Rayware, as a graduate research assistant I was proud to be a part of this research endeavor. I’m pleased to continue with these endeavors by providing the software and a support area on the new internet portal.
Installation instructions: Extract the zip file to a temporary folder. Use Control panel, Add/Remove Programs or click Start, Run, browse to the temporary folder and execute the installation file setup.exe. Follow on-screen instructions. When installation is complete, the temporary folder may be deleted if desired.
Important note for LHA users: This software includes support for both .zip and .lzh archiving of data files. If you use LHA for compression (.lzh format), the default installation location (C:\Program Files\WinCMM) is not an MS-DOS compatible pathname, thus the LHA archive functions will not work. If you would like to maintain full compatibility with MS-DOS operations and utilities, override the installation location and place the software in a top-level folder with 8 or less characters (no spaces) in the folder name. Example: C:\WinCMM.
