Recently, my wife and I have acquired many very old, 78 RPM records, they originate from one of the family ancestors, Mr. David Card (1898-1975) of Norris, MT….
I’ve taken on the project to bring these treasures back and offer some samples to my friends who may find it of interest (more will be added over time) I invite you to give a listen:
After a thorough cleaning of the old records, encoding the 78 rpm record (most are shellac, some vinyl) to MP3 with Jensen turntable; transfer to pc; digitally enhanced using Audacity software to remove unwanted noise. If anyone is interested in greater detail, just ask. This project is to digitally clean and preserve these great antiques. (the sound was in really tough shape originally)
78 rpm recordings, (released from copyright):
#17825-B “Alabama Jubilee” by Collins and Harlen, 1915
#9636 “The Meanest Man in the World”, Leona Williams and her Dixie Band, 1922
