A Cadence University Program Member

The Klipsch School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. at New Mexico State University participates in the Cadence University Program. This allows the use of Cadence products for use in teaching and research at NMSU.

The following senior-level/graduate courses use Cadence products:

  • EE412/512 – ASIC Design (EDI, SPB, Digital IC)
  • EE480/510 – Introduction to Analog and Digital VLSI (Custom IC, Verification)
  • EE485/523 – Analog VLSI Design (Custom IC, Verification)

The following graduate courses use Cadence software:

  • EE518 – Integrated Power Management Circuits
  • EE519 – RF Microelectronics
  • EE520 – A/D and D/A Converter Design
  • EE522 – Advanced Analog VLSI Design

In the Microelectronics/VLSI specialization area at New Mexico State University, Cadence products are used in virtually all Master’s theses and technical reports and Ph.D. dissertations..

Cadence provides software products that allow the VLSI program in the ECE department to design, simulate, and layout analog and mixed-signal Custom ICs (integrated circuit).  In addition, Cadence product allows the automated synthesis, place and route, physical design, timing analysis, and floorplanning of Digital ICs.  Also, Cadence Verification tools are used to ensure ICs function as designed prior to fabrication.  Each component of the product from Cadence performs a different aspect of VLSI design.
